5 Landscaping Features Everyone Should Consider

Landscaping your back garden is exciting and creative. But you don’t want to install a new garden and then find out about some excellent landscaping features you could have included but didn’t think of at the time. Below are five features anyone landscaping a garden should consider installing.

Landscaped yard with solar lighting

Solar Lighting

Clearly, the cost of energy is going through the roof and is completely unsustainable. At the same time, the green revolution is in full swing, and there is a greater demand and supply of renewable energy than ever before. But you don’t have to rely on grid power for your garden.

Solar lighting is now very efficient and works exceptionally well in your landscaped garden. Solar lights absorb sunlight throughout the day and transform it into electrical energy when the sun goes down. Use solar lighting for your sitting area or for pathway lights for your guests.

Yard with natural stone

Natural Stone

Everybody loves the look of natural stone, It gives your back garden area a quality standard that is hard to achieve any other way. This, of course, increases the value of your property. But there are other advantages to installing natural stone; it is non-slip, easy to clean, and looks beautiful.

The downside of natural stone is the cost. If you choose something like granite, limestone, marble, or travertine, you will pay a lot more for it. And it can be expensive to replace if it gets damaged. A good alternative is a modern concrete which is sometimes made to look natural.

Fenced in yard

Perimeter Fencing

If you live near a road or you have some noisy neighbors, you will have to consider this when setting up a landscape garden. There are two types of landscape gardens, the open version, and the closed version. The open version is fine for extroverts but not great if you like it quiet.

The solution to a noisy perimeter is perimeter fencing. Depending on your requirements and your budget, you can have perimeter fencing that is low-cost or high-quality. Either way, you will need to contact a fence installation company to help you install the fence, so it’s more secure.

Garden room

Garden Room

If you invest a lot of money in your landscape project, you want to enjoy the garden in the summer when the weather is sunny and in the winter when it has a different kind of beauty. A garden room is one of the best and most popular ways to sit in the garden at any time.

Garden rooms can be easy to install and add value to your home right away. If you also install a wood burner, you can enjoy the garden on a cold winter day and stay warm at the same time. Why not move your home office there for the day if you want to get some more personal space?

water feature

Water Feature

On a hot summer day, there is nothing better than standing or sitting near a water feature. Some locations aren’t suitable for a swimming pool. But you can still have a small waterfall or a miniature water feature that is nice to listen to, cools the garden down, and attracts animals.

  1. One of my favorite things that I have done to my home and for my garden was to add frameless sliding glass doors. The minima sliding doors open up at the corners, so its like opening up a whole side of your house to the garden! I wish I could post a picture for reference but here’s the link : https://minimasliding.co.uk/gallery/
