Home sweet home! Well, it should be, but if any of the following household problems are starting to annoy you, then we wouldn’t blame you if you decided to spend more time at work than relaxing in your once-serene environment. While you may want to call in the professionals for some of the issues listed here, there are some things you can do yourself to rectify the annoying household problems at hand.
5 Annoying Household Problems (And How To Deal With Them)
Annoying Household Problems
#1: A blocked toilet
If your toilet is kicking up a regular stink, then there is a blockage within the plumbing. Not only will the smell become a problem, but you may one day have an impromptu flood in your bathroom as a result.
Not pleasant at all! There are products available in your local supermarket to deal with the problem, but you can also use a natural mix of dish soap and hot water to unclog it. Put pieces of the soap in the toilet first, follow through with the water, and the blockage should start to dissolve.
Alternatively, use good old-fashioned elbow grease, and use a toilet plunger with this DIY way to unclog a toilet instead.

#2: Stains on your carpet
Your carpets are prone to many stains – drink spills, pet, and small child toileting accidents, squashed in food – pretty soon, the color of your carpet will no longer match the rest of your home’s decor. To get rid of these unsightly stains, it’s time to get the vinegar out.
A standby for many annoying household problems, it should work well with most stains. Concoct a solution of one part white vinegar and two parts water, apply to a towel, and place it over the stain.
Iron over the towel, leave for a just under a minute, and voila, your carpet should be stain free! If you have the budget, you can also have your carpets professionally cleaned and keep them looking brand new. You may want to wash the towel afterward, however!

#3: Pet hairs on your carpet and sofa
Dogs and cats make for wonderful pets, but let’s face it, they do add to your annoying household problems. Aside from cleaning up their paw prints on your once shiny floor, and aside from dealing with the odd toileting accident here and there, you also have their hairs to deal with.
Vacuuming regularly will help, but the hairs can get stuck in your carpet and sofa fabric, and they can be hard to remove. It’s time to get the rubber gloves on for a very simple trick. Dampen the gloves, run them over your carpet and sofa, and the hairs should come right off. Simple!

#4: A smelly fridge
For starters, by cleaning your fridge regularly, and by removing outdated food, you will pretty much solve this issue. Still, certain smells can linger long after the old food has been removed.
So if you are caught reeling by the nasty pongs that emerge every time you open the doors to your refrigerator, then there is a simple trick you can try. Line the drawers of your fridge with any old newspapers you have lying around and the paper will absorb the smells!
Easy! Failing that, here some other ways of tackling this smelly problem.
These are just a few of the tips and tricks we have used, but if you have any advice on the annoying household problems listed here or any other such annoyances in the home, then please let us know, for all of our sakes! Thanks for reading.
