Most people love applesauce, especially kids! My family can’t get enough applesauce. However, store-bought applesauce just doesn’t taste as good as home-made. And I have found the best and easiest recipe yet to make my own! It has simple ingredients. It takes less than 10 minutes to prepare. And the result is delicious crockpot applesauce with minimal effort!
Because this recipe is my own, you may want to add or reduce the amount of some of the ingredients to your taste. This crockpot applesauce freezes well and cans well, however, I can’t seem to keep it long enough to see when it actually starts to become bad. I guess that means I scored a winner with this one!
If you want to make this for small children or someone who is diabetic you can eliminate the brown sugar, just make sure to use sweeter apples. You can also experiment with the types of apples you use. I prefer the red delicious, however, other types of apples should work too.
Here is a list of the types of apples I have used in the past that worked out pretty well if you need to know where to start. Check out this page for information about different apple types!
- Granny Smith
- Red Delicious (my preference)
- Yellow Newton
- Golden Delicious
Try this recipe, I know you won’t be disappointed! Let me know what apples you used and how it all turned out!
